Diane at Propak

Some like it hot! –
Dianne van der Merwe of PlastiChem played waitress and on offer was the new ‘vitamin water’ packaged in Glaceau PET hotfill bottles from Mondipak Plastics Wadeville. This container is suited for preservative-free beverages that can be hotfilled at up to 85°C

Asty Team

Re-heat machine –
Asty Plastic Machinery showed one of its reheat-stretch machines for PET containers. The A-to-Z solutions offering from Asty has proved popular in SA and the neighbouring states. Vijen Joseph of Asty SA and Tom Ho of Asty China have been very active in the local market. Here we see them with technicians Manuel Reddy (SA) and Xiao Chen (China)
Time to collapse –
Sometimes, during shows like this, it would be good to be a crate, just collapse and no one says a word! Gwen Cook of Chespak showed off a new collapsible crate being supplied by Chespak

Plastichem Team

PlastiChem 10 years –The first decade has flown by for PlastiChem, which has become one of the top material supply companies in South Africa. Operating nationally, PlastiChem is run by Helmut Oellermann and Stuart Gibson. With consistency both in terms of its high standards and personnel, the company’s team has expanded but hardly changed, the most recent new arrival being Thys du Plessis (left). They ran a nice open stand at Proplas Africa, with the result that many passersby dropped in, and stayed

Something up the sleeve – David Bragge and Lome de Sousa of Tadbik Pack/CLP Packaging SA showed off the range of high quality in-mould labels and shrink sleeves they are supplying. One of Tadbik’s most recent advances is an IML solution for thin pill containers (inset)

Polybiz

The juggler – Sometimes one has to juggle prices to keep customers happy and when that doesn’t work, well, you may as well just juggle anyway. Andrew Shipton of Polybiz proved he has the required skill, and – yes –he did manage to keep the balls in the air for quite a while
