Uncomplicated processing possible even at low pressure
ALFATER XL, the established range of TPVs from Albis Plastic of Germany, now covers the entire hardness spectrum from A40 to D50 with its recently developed high-flow types “The Alfater XL High Flow types make uncomplicated processing possible for our customers even at low pressure – a considerable advantage for complex injection moulding components with long flow paths,” explains Hans Rukes manager of the Technical Compounds division at Albis.

The first successfully completed projects in the automotive division have demonstrated that impressive results can be achieved in processing, even for components with extremely thin walls, says Rukes. It is also possible to develop modifications based on customers’ individual needs. Available in their natural colour, black or in colour, the Alfater XL High Flow types show an excellent resistance to high temperatures. Tests over 1,000 h at 135°C or 300h at 150°C resulted in no notable changes in the characteristic values. The materials also demonstrate very good adhesion to PP, are UV-stabilised and fulfi l the weathering requirements in moist warm and hot dry climates. The requirements for TPVs are becoming increasingly complex and challenging: high temperature resistance, good media resistance, long fl ow paths, thin walled components, as well as surface textures produced with excellent imaging accuracy, all development drivers for applications not possible a few years ago.
